The person in the mirror
Good Morning! hahaha.
as you can see, i shamelessly put my face there. hahaha. i just woke up and that is my morning face -__- hahaha. anyway, i'm going to take a break from all my "technical" posts(like my cebu escapade, which i have to share in the succeeding posts) to share my experience with the girl in the mirror.
no, the girl in the mirror is not a mumu (please don't say that to me, i live alone!) :)
anyway, everyday, we look ourselves in the mirror. we see our physical aspect..but have you really took time to sit down and look at the person in the mirror and
see who that person really is?
i did that just this morning (the reason why i did is kind of a long story XD). anyway, i sat down and looked at the girl in the mirror, she's on my left side and here's what i see:
physically, i see a girl that is not attractive. that girl in the mirror is
not pretty. not pretty enough to turn heads and definitely, absolutely and surely, a hundred percent not pretty enough for a boy she
thinks she's
falling in love with likes.
i see a morena girl with dyed hair and an average-plain-jane-face.
BUT despite all those untractiveness in her physical appearance, i see a girl with
so much potentials -- in academics, in the industry, in cooking and in
love
i see a girl who can
give so much . a girl who's willing to extend her arms for a friend in need. a girl who's willing to accommodate friends who needs her. a girl who can give so much love.
i see a girl who's still waiting. waiting for that right person to come. waiting for that special someone who will be worth all her efforts (because she can give a lot when she loves, i know it, i've
seen it, i've
experienced it. a girl who's waiting for someone who's going to sweep her off her feet (because she still believes in those cheesy stuff even though maybe she's too old for it). a girl who's waiting for greater things to happen. a girl who's waiting and waiting for
him.
i see a girl that is really, really strong. who might not endured enough to be called super strong girl but have endured enough to be labeled as tough. a girl who has her heart broken many times but still manages to stand strong and firm and walk with her head held high. a girl who have experienced many, many failures in her life but still manages to stay alive. a girl who still manages to smile amidst all those 60+ grades, below 75 grades, just 75 grades and below 85% average grades (because in this girl's life, academics is a part of her life and she used to excel academically so having all these grades is a big blow to her academic ego, and i know not everyone understands that).
i see a girl who has a third of her life stuck in the past. but even though she's got a heart stuck in the past, this girl got a head that wants to move forward. a body that leans forward. a wound that's still healing even after all those years.
i see a girl who has all of these passions. but this girl has this habit of not finishing what she started. haha. such a lazyass :))
i see a girl i love :) yes, despite all the failures, frustrations, quirks, ugly habits, unattractiveness and bad attitudes that this girl has, i still love her because i know, along with God, she's all i've got when everything else disappears. i love this girl because she pep talks me. i love this girl because as i continue to live, i get to know her more and more everyday...and ultimately, i love this girl because this girl is me :) i know i sound crazy. hahaha.
but we have got to love ourselves, right? :) for so many years, i've been hating this girl in the mirror. i see her crying and i hate her even more. but now, every time i see her crying, all i want to do is hug her if i can and say sorry for putting her into such mess. i sound crazy but yes, i do sometimes talk to her and give her words of encouragement when other people can't and when other people don't.
i don't actually know why i've opened up this kind of topic in my public blog but i guess, that's just me. hahaha. this blog is not my blog if there are no cheesy and corny, personal things in it like this one. why? because i started blogging
for the sake of blogging it is for my self expression. if i have readers, it's good but if i don't, it's okay. at least i was able to share myself out there. hahaha. :))
do i sound too
forever alone ? haha :))
anyway, i don't know but doing this self-affirmation once in a while really helps me feel better about myself. it's good to be
not-too-harsh on yourself once in a while, you know. i really can't explain the psychology behind what i do because i don't have enough knowledge on that. but if i do, i might share it sometime soon. :)
have you looked yourself in the mirror today? what have you found out?
what have you seen?
