the mind is really a powerful tool in our body. it controls every single thing and it can push the body to its limits. the brain can greatly influence how the body reacts. indeed, it's all in the way we think. let me quote the slogan of pharmaton, "What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve". and indeed, with fighting spirit and a whole lot of will, one can achieve great feat.
i should never really underestimate the power of the mind because right now, i am amazed at how my brain functions. i'm not talking about academics here
ha. i'm talking about physical stuff.
like when we had our first climb, i never thought that i could endure so much coldness. i mean, of course, we're at the mountain, so as expected, the weather there early morning is so cold, you don't need an air conditioner or an electric fan. and at the time of our training, it was raining. so no choice, rain or shine, we should continue our physical training--cold or not. cause in reality, when you climb mountains, you never really get to choose what's the weather so you have to adjust to the weather conditions there. with all that i've went through during the first climb, i thought that i'd be sick during the first night. but of course, i just did not think about that. i was afraid of pneumonia but i did not think about that. i was afraid that i would suddenly faint but i did not think about that. i thought that i should not be sick, i should stay strong. the cold was quite unbearable. others have almost experienced hypothermia..but we survived it, we survived the harsh cold and yes, with our mind focused on finishing the training and finishing the climb, we were able to control our body to adjust to the condition.
let me tell you how cold it was. i could see my breath condense right before my very eyes. and aaron, a co aspirant before, you could see the way the heat from his body condense. it's as if "umuusok ang katawan nya". and our breaths, we feel like were in the movies, yknow, when there's snow and
umuusok yung bibig mo it was
that cold. you it's like, the aircon is blowing full blast beside you :D yeah, we survived that without a coat on. XD
anyway, moving on, after the climb, i never got sick. and i continue to tell myself "i can do this" even though i feel like i can't. i push myself to the limits now. specially in jogging.
and you know what a week before exam week, after our pre survival part one, i actually got a notion that i'd be sick.. i can feel the symptoms, head ache, that feeling when you wake up, kalain gud..i just kept telling myself that i shouldn't be sick cause i can't afford to be sick..and so i did not really got sick. it was a battle between my body and my will. i only got sick when i accepted that i AM going to be sick and so i got cough due to overfatigue. but i'm glad that i gave in to that sickness. cause if not, maybe until now, it will still be a struggle between me and my suppressed sickness. so see? will really goes a long way.
in philo, i've learned about a valuable thing "
INNER HOLD" if one loses his or her inner hold, he/she losses in life. holding on to inner hold is important. during the whole duration of my physical training, i never let go of my inner hold, my will. my strong will to finish, my strong will to stay upright, to not fall, to endure everything, to endure the pain. and believe me, if you do not have that will, you will not make it. this is true especially for frail people like me.
i could go on and on about inner hold but i have to end here kasi mahaba na ang post. hahaha. XD okai.. :))
God bless ya'll. tinamad ako. XD
lablab.
